Electrical Controls Engineer Vacancies at Conveyor & Automation Technologies

Electrical Controls Engineer

General Purpose of Position:

Create PLC and HMI programs utilizing Rockwell Software/Allen-Bradley products. Startup and debug of controls for conveyor and material handling systems in the field. Create Programs for Robotic applications.  

Number of hires for this role:

2 positions available  

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare software programs for custom conveying and automation systems.
  • Prepare PLC and operator interface programs.
  • Working understanding of schematic wiring diagrams, PLC I/O, connection diagrams, and field drawings for design work. Design using AutoCad.
  • Perform functional checks, troubleshoot, start-up of control systems throughout the U.S. (approx. 50-60% travel required)


Skills & Abilities:

  • Programming PLC programs preferably Allen Bradley Control Logix, PLC and use of Ethernet
  • Working, hands-on knowledge of Operator interface programs preferably Allen Bradley Factory Talk View and RS View.
  • Robotic experience desirable or desire to learn robotic programming basics (Fanuc Robots) .
  • AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite,
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills
  • High level of analytical ability to effectively evaluate, verify and/or select alternate design approaches


Education & Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or equivalent degree or experience.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with current mechanical and electrical engineers to create conveyor systems


Education & Training:

Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Work Location:

Sparks Glencoe, MD
